ISRAEL UPDATE, Cable TV’s popular program, featuring exciting interviews with important personalities from the American and Israeli landscape, announces an exciting August line-up. The program, co-hosted by Helen Freedman and Charlie Bernhaut, is shown in Manhattan every Monday night, 7 PM, Ch. 57 Time Warner and Channel 109 RCN. It is shown in other locations at other times. The schedule can be seen by consulting www.afsi.org.

AUGUST 8 – DANIEL WEIDMANN – Daniel represents the community of Beit Haggai in the southern Hebron Hills. He speaks about the unique boys’ school, Beit Haggai Children & Youth Village, for at-risk youth aged 12-17, and the remarkable work that is done in rehabilitating the young men. He also talks about the recent terror attacks outside of Beit Haggai, as well as his efforts to prevent the Sharon expulsion plans. Contact Daniel at www.beithaggai.org; info@beithaggai.org

AUGUST 15 – BATYA MEDAD – A resident of Shilo, Batya is an English teacher at the B’nei Akiva Yeshiva HS in the community of Beit-El to which she hitchhikes on school days. Batya made aliyah from New York in 1970 and has lived in Shiloh since 1981. She is a journalist, known for her excellent observations on life in Israel, to be found on her website, Shilo Musings. Batya is a strong opponent of the Sharon expulsion plan for reasons she delineates in the interview and in her writings. Batya can be reached at: shilohmuse@yahoo.com

AUGUST 22 – DAVID HA’IVRI – David is head of REVAVA, an organization designed to restore Jewish national pride and values. One concern is making the Temple Mount accessible to Jews who wish to visit and pray there. David details the names and circumstances of youngsters arrested by the Israeli police because of their involvement in protest demonstrations against the Sharon expulsion plan. His own two young daughters were arrested and imprisoned, as well as children of other families in the Kfar Tapuach community. David can be reached at: haivri@hameir.org; www.revava.org.

AUGUST 29 – HELEN FREEDMAN & CHARLIE BERNHAUT review the march of terrorism throughout the world. They note that the terror which started in Israel with the training of suicide bombers and the teaching of hatred for all non-Muslims, is a growing threat to the rest of the civilized world. Special attention is paid to the jihad against America. Contact: israelviews@aol.com

HELEN FREEDMAN & CHARLIE BERNHAUT are pleased to list the titles and dates of hundreds of interviews they’ve conducted since Sept. 2000 to the present, for their Cable TV program, ISRAEL UPDATE. Their guests have included a wide range of people, including many prestigious Members of the Knesset, journalists, attorneys, filmmakers, rabbis, organization leaders, authors, activists, and Israelis living in the “disputed” territories. It is fascinating to observe that in the four years covered in the interviews, although specific events have changed, the overall picture of Israel’s downward spiral has not changed. The program continues to be aired on many cable TV stations throughout the United States, with Kauai, Hawaii the most recent addition to the roster. Watch for the listing of times, dates and channels which will posted as soon as the fall changes are made.

All the interviews are on VHS tapes which may be ordered by contacting Helen and Charlie at the email address: israelviews@aol.com or at the AFSI office, 212-828-2424. A $10 charge will cover the cost of duplication and shipping.
