AUGUST 8 – DANIEL WEIDMANN – Daniel represents the community of Beit Haggai in the southern Hebron Hills. He speaks about the unique boys’ school, Beit Haggai Children & Youth Village, for at-risk youth aged 12-17, and the remarkable work that is done in rehabilitating the young men. AUGUST 15 – BATYA MEDAD – A resident of Shilo, Batya is an English teacher at the B’nei Akiva Yeshiva HS in the community of Beit-El to which she hitchhikes on school days. Batya made aliyah from New York in 1970 and has lived in Shiloh since 1981. She is a journalist, known for her excellent observations on life in Israel, to be found on her website, Shilo Musings. AUGUST 22 – DAVID HA’IVRI – David is head of REVAVA, an organization designed to restore Jewish national pride and values. One concern is making the Temple Mount accessible to Jews who wish to visit and pray there. David details the names and circumstances of youngsters arrested by the Israeli police because of their involvement in protest demonstrations against the Sharon expulsion plan.
