ing the Arabs that Jerusalem indeed is non-negotiable for Israel. So Barak's bizarre message to AIPAC and Congress hurt Israel's friends and fed raw meat to the Palestinian shark. But in Clintonian fashion don't repair your errors, spin them Barak's main response was to try to find out who had leaked his stumble.Numerous other developments reinforce this grim picture of the Barak government. It pushes on with Wye although Palestinian officials have stated explicitly that the 1947 partition boundaries are their proximate goal. A "peace" deal is still pursued to surrender the Golan Heights to international drug dealer Hafez Asad of Syria who hosts more than a dozen terrorist groups that have warred on Israel daily for many years. Moreover, the Golan is the source of one-third of Israel's water and after a year of drought the government continues to give water to Jordan and to Arafat in Gaza while shutting the tap to Israeli farmers. Hebron's main street has been opened to Arab traffic, exposing the holy city's Jewish ghetto to drive-by shootings while the government bars the street to Jews.
God forgave the Jewish people for the mixed multitude's sin with the golden calf but a year later, when the ten cowardly scouts made them despair of entering and ruling their inheritance, the entire generation was condemned to wander 39 more years and die in the wilderness. With grace, faith and courage a nation can cross any physical desert but a desert of organized forgetting destroys these redemptive qualities. Ehud Barak will not repudiate or suppress his leftwing revisers of Jewish history and so is utterly unfit to lead the nation through this difficult strait of time.

the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and the Muslim Public Affairs Committee. These groups may have the legal right to organize a boycott, but the President has an obligation to use his influence to put an end to it. He has not done so.The Arabs boycott, Clinton is silent, and the Barak government plans its next concessions to Arafat. It's a recipe for national suicide.
