On Sunday April 7, 2002, fourteen thousand people demonstrated in front of the Federal Building in LA. The following is the entire report of the Los Angeles Times about the demonstration.

Los Angeles; IN BRIEF / WEST LOS ANGELES; Pro-Israel Group Rallies Outside Federal Building
The Los Angeles Times; Los Angeles, Calif.; Apr 8, 2002;

About 2,000 demonstrators waved signs and chanted "Arafat's a Terrorist!" at a raucous pro-Israel demonstration outside the federal building in West Los Angeles.

At one point, pro-Palestinian counterdemonstrators carrying Palestinian flags tussled with demonstrators, but police said there were no reports of major disturbances.

Passing cars honked as protesters sang songs and held signs with slogans such as "Arafat-Bin Laden" and "We Stand With Israel."

The following is a letter written in protest to the LA Times

To: Dean.baquet@latimes.com
Dear Mr. Baquet.,

After reviewing the grotesque inaccuracies of the LA Times' irresponsible
reporting on yesterday's event at the Federal Building in LA, it makes me
call into serious question the veracity of the reporting from the Los
Angeles Times.

I'm not some quack off the street. I own a well respected film and TV
company and have participated in hundreds and hundreds of major rock
concerts and can therefore gauge the approximate size of a crowd. There were
at least 12,000 plus people at this event. They even closed down access of
Wilshire Blvd. from the 405 freeway. (according the Federal Police's
official report there were 14,000 people there. Find out for yourself. They
can be reached at (213) 894-3264). This event was MASSIVE!!!  Why I bring
this up is because I am not a Jew I'm an American, but I stood with them
yesterday because they have a right to defend and protect themselves.

Why were there no pictures? Why do you continue to downplay what is REALLY
going on?

I have many, many friends in the entertainment industry (including several
people on your staff) and will use every resource within my power to expose
this kind of irresponsibility. Of the 14,000 people that were there, and
more that will support it, I can't help but wonder how many of them are
advertisers in your paper. Are they all little Jewish old ladies? I saw a
whole bunch of Mercedes Benz's getting tickets from the city for illegal
parking, and from the looks on the people's face, it was a small price to
pay for standing up for truth.

You may want to rethink your position on this kind of conduct as this as
this issue is not going to go away any time soon.

Respectfully,

Ken Tamplin
